When wearing excessively high heels can cause irreversible damage to health, doctors typically assess the changes in the Achilles tendon at different heel heights by palpating the heel bone to determine an appropriate heel height range for women. To help women better understand the ideal heel height for them, we have developed a mobile application system to evaluate the maximum heel height suitable for women. The system takes as input a video of the user's heel raised by a mobile phone and, using a trained artificial intelligence evaluation system, outputs the maximum recommended heel height. This system allows female users to assess their suitable heel height anywhere and anytime, without the need for special measurement platforms or professional medical assistance—users can complete the evaluation by simply using their phones. Additionally, this invention offers the advantage of saving medical resources. In the past, if a professional rehabilitation doctor diagnosed the suitable heel height for a patient, the diagnosis process would take about 15 to 20 minutes, whereas our evaluation system completes the entire assessment in less than 5 minutes.
This invention can primarily be applied in shoe stores to assist consumers in selecting the right heel height when purchasing high heels. Furthermore, this app can integrate with e-commerce platforms, where it can quickly calculate the appropriate heel height range for women and recommend suitable high heels for users to purchase. The women's high heel market is vast, and there are currently no similar products available to assist women in selecting the right heel height. If shoe manufacturers, chain stores, or online retailers are willing to adopt this product, it represents a new blue ocean market.
